Growing up, my mom always made Pigs in a Blanket and baked beans for Halloween supper - and we couldn't leave the house until we had something to eat. Good thing that these were always one of our favorites!
As the years have passed, these retro and iconic rollups have always been a family favorite. So simple and easy to make that even the little ones love helping to make them!
Not only for Halloween, these are always the first thing to disappear when I serve them at football parties, deck parties, and they are a regular at our Christmas Eve appetizer party!
And everyone always says, "gees, why don't we have these more often?"
And if you REALLY want to shake things up and have people charging towards the table, put a little piece of American cheese inside the little 'ol Little Smokie, and they are smoking wonderful! Melty cheese inside that little Pig in a Blanket? So darn good! And for an even BIGGER taste, you can use regular-sized hotdogs and a regular-sized crescent roll dough slice to have a bigger version - with even more melty cheese.....SO GOOD!
For an easy appetizer or snack for a holiday appetizer party, for the Super Bowl, game night, or a Saturday stay-at-home movie night, these little Pigs in a Blanket will ALWAYS be a hit! Everyone always goes crazy for these, and everyone loves food that brings back warm and coy memories, and these little Pigs in a Blanket do that for us!
