Inspired by Cherry Garcia Ice Cream, this is the perfect recipe for big, chewy chocolate chip cookies filled with sweet bites of maraschino cherries and plenty of chocolate. Cherry Garcia Cookies taste just like a chocolate-covered cherry – and may be the best cookie combination ever – it’s no coincidence that these are named after the greatest player ever!
For something truly decadent, fill two Cherry Garcia Cookies with a scoop of Cherry Garcia Ice Cream for the ultimate summertime ice cream sandwich!

These Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies are studded with not one, but two kinds of caramel! Sea salt caramel filled chocolate truffles, soft caramel pieces, pecans and just a sprinkle of sea salt – taste just like turtle candy but baked up as the most delicious homemade soft and chewy cookie ever! They taste even more wonderful than they look, and are perfect for holidays and special occasions!
What are your favorite smells of summer? Blooming flowers, suntan lotion, damp earth after a summer thunderstorm, campfires....does sunshine have a smell? One of our favorites are the smells of backyard grilling. And whenever someone in the neighborhood is cooking something on the grill, everyone plays a guessing game as what they're making! Whether its hot dogs over a campfire, burgers on the grill, or ribs on a smoker, it's all good!
But one of our favorites this year is Korean Barbeque Steak Kabobs! The smells wafting thru our backyard and into the house were WONDERFUL! And even the neighbors were coming over to ask "What the heck is that fabulous smell coming from your grill - and what time should we be there for dinner?" Korean Barbeque....it will change your life! When we were little, we always knew it was summer when Mom made the first batch of this simple, slightly tart and slightly sweet Rhubarb Raspberry Sauce. We would spread it on top of buttered toast, or spoon it over ice cream, pound cake, angel food cake until the last spoonful was gone. My Dad loved to eat a bowl of it all by itself. Wonderful recipe, wonderful memories!
This wonderful Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing is wonderful on a spinach salad or fresh summertime fruit salads, but absolutely out-of-this world with fresh ripe and sweet peaches or nectarines. So easy to make at home – you’ll never buy store bought poppy seed dressing again!
Pizzelles are traditional Italian waffle cookies popular during Christmas and Easter holidays, and always for weddings – universally loved and special all year long! So simple and easy to make, they remind me of delicate snowflakes.
My recipes for Dark Chocolate Pizzelles and Vanilla Bean Pizzelles are tried and true, extra flavorful and decadent. My family is hooked on Vanilla Bean Pizzelles which have a delicate vanilla flavor and flecks of vanilla bean seeds, and Dark Chocolate Pizzelles, which have a rich chocolate flavor, almost like a brownie or an Oreo cookie. Warm from the oven, these simple and sweet Rhubarb Puff Pastry Tarts are the perfect way to start your day or end a summery meal! These homemade rhubarb tarts use a shortcut version of traditional puff pastry dough that’s often referred to as rough puff pastry. Each bite of buttery, flaky pastry is filled with just a touch of tart and sweet rhubarb filling. Almost too pretty to eat, but you’ll love every special bite!
If you love tropical grilled chicken or fresh grilled pineapple, Grilled Pineapple Chicken is the one for you! Wonderfully juicy and bursting the flavor, this sticky, sweet and tangy pineapple chicken starts with an easy marinade that becomes the most heavenly Brown Sugar Pineapple Glaze ever! And I’ll let you in on a little secret – you can easily turn this into a quick and easy stir fry dinner. This is another family favorite that always disappears fast!
Do you love fireworks and everything red, white and blue? These Patriotic Star-Spangled Sugar Cookies are perfect for ALL the patriotic holidays - Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Flag Day, and Labor Day! Chocolate Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies are rich in chocolate flavor and incredibly soft. Paired with easy Royal Icing and decorated with colorful red, white & blue sprinkles and edible sparkles, they light up the night and every Fourth of July celebration!
Traeger Smoked Barbecue Ribs are perfect for lazy summer cookouts! These fall-off-the bone tender ribs are fool proof and a family favorite. Seasoned and smoked for the first three hours, then wrapped and braised for 2 hours in a buttery brown sugar apple cider sauce, and finally sauced up with your favorite barbecue sauce for the final hour - let the party begin!
Fast and easy, homemade Rhubarb Jam has always been our family favorite jam! I usually use our first rhubarb crop of the season for Rhubarb Jam or Raspberry Rhubarb Jam, just the first of many batches that will be made thru the short growing season. The tender shoots are a beautiful shade of pink, red and tart green, and the first jars usually are gone within days.
My little ones love helping make Rhubarb Jam - from picking the rhubarb, to stirring the jam as it cooks, and then licking off the spoon when we're done. There is nothing better on a nice sunny summer morning than warm golden toast or English muffins smeared with butter and fresh Rhubarb Jam. And if you've never had a peanut butter & rhubarb jam sandwich, you haven't lived! Eeeeeeek! How can it already be the Fourth of July? Summer has arrived with a vengeance...it's hot, it's sticky, it's thunderstormy! The Fourth of July has always been one of our favorite holidays to celebrate - whether we're at the lake, camping deep in the woods, or celebrating with family and friends at a backyard picnic. Lots of ice, lots of fun, and lots of new memories! Time to share some of our favorite patriotic recipes, and just in time for lazy summer mornings, afternoon picnics and barbecues, and fireworks at night!
