One of my favorite things about Fall is all of the fabulous colors - deep reds and oranges, yellows and rusty brown. My rustic Apple, Pear & Dried Cherry Crisp with Walnut Streusel is filled with both autumn colors and flavors, combining tender apples, ripe red pears and cherries into a caramel laced crumble, with a buttery walnut streusel topping.
Warm and wonderful from the oven and served with sweetened whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream - it's the stuff autumn dreams are made of!

One of the most endearing qualities of my Gram was the many ways that she showed that she cared - and that always made an impression! She wasn't loud about it...it was more of a quiet nature with her. Whether someone was celebrating one of life's happy moments, recovering from an illness, or gathering for a memorial service, she ALWAYS brought food. Cheesy Hash Brown Potatoes are also commonly known as "Funeral Potatoes", and they are total comfort food, no matter what the occasion.
This easy and Cheesy Hash Brown Potato casserole is so easy to throw together and is always a family favorite for holidays, and probably the most-requested dish for potlucks. Homemade cheese sauce, rather than the usual canned soup recipe, really makes this recipe special, and smoked paprika is my secret weapon for over-the-top wonderful! One of the best things about Fall is football season starting, and all of the wonderful snacking and tailgating that goes along with that! One of our family favorites ANY time of the year is Baked Buffalo Chicken Tenders - baked and tender chicken, coated with a perfectly spiced sticky buffalo wing sauce and served with the BEST Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce ever - finger licking good!
I always forget how much everyone loves these - but they keep reminding me! You can't go wrong with warm butternut squash, crisp and caramelized on the outside, and buttery soft and tender in the middle! Perfectly roasted, these are a wonderful side dish for Thanksgiving or alongside any of your autumn dinners.
If you have little ones (or big ones for that matter) that aren't crazy about vegetables, a healthy spoonful of Honey-Cinnamon Cream Drizzle on top makes these impossible to resist! For fun with your little ones, you can't go wrong with Pumpkin Whoopie Pies, but fill them with Maple Brown Buttercream Filling? Everyone will be fighting for a handful of these delicious little treats! My kiddos also call these "Pumpkin Gobs", and love them filled with Vanilla Bean Buttercream Frosting or Marshmallow Cream Filling.
Whoopie pies are an American classic. Made of soft, moist, little cakes filled with a sweet, creamy and fluffy filling. I've never been able to figure out why they are called "pies" when they resemble little cakes so much more! The original flavor is chocolate, filled with marshmallow filling. The batter is thick, a cross between cake batter and cookie dough, and the texture is soft and tender. But in the autumn, there's nothing better than a Pumpkin Whoopie Pie! I don't know about you, but there is something that is just SO HARD when the days start getting shorter and nightfall seems to come faster and faster! Throw in long and crazy days at work, and hangry kiddos waiting for dinner the minute I walk thru the door, there are days I just need something SUPER fast and easy!
Loaded with four varieties of melted cheese, Ravioli & Spinach Lasagna is so quick and easy to make that it's perfect for weeknight dinners! Everything you love about lasagna - layers of tender cheese ravioli, hearty Italian marinara sauce, fresh spinach and TONS of melted cheese - your family will fall in love with this too! Sweet and savory corn muffins are tender and rich, and loaded with texture. Glazed with Homemade Honey Butter warm from the oven, the topping is so wonderful that you will want to devour muffin top after muffin top! Perfect with homemade chili or served with warm maple syrup as a breakfast treat – you are going to LOVE these!
This recipe brings back such wonderful memories! It's one of those times that I get out my Mom's old ceramic mixing bowl and her wooden spoon, and mix these up the old-fashioned way - with lots of gentle stirring and lots of love! Something this simple really doesn't need a recipe, but Honey Butter is once of those simple things that makes you thump your head and ask, "Why didn't I think of that earlier?" So I'm just putting this out there, to help you remember next time!
Homemade Honey Butter is the perfect topping on corn muffins, cornbread, buttermilk waffles and warm French toast. And for all my Norwegian family and friends, it's also pretty darn wonderful on lefse! Are you one of the many that adores everything pumpkin spice?
These Pumpkin Waffles are everything you love in a waffle - light, buttery and crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Filled with creamy pumpkin, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spices, these are perfect with homemade Cinnamon Cream Cheese Drizzle, or served simply with whipped butter and warm maple syrup. Our favorite way to start an autumn morning! |
