It's going to be a long weekend of family favorites! Lots of fun and activities - at home, at the cabin, and on the boats, and lots of meals and snacks to make for the crowd. I'm never quite sure exactly HOW many people will be with us on holiday weekends, as the crowd comes and goes, but I do know that these are a favorite!!

I know some boys that are going to be REALLY happy when it is dinner time tonight! After a day on the water, these Italian Meatball Marinara Sub Sandwiches are going to make their tummies VERY happy! A nice change of pace from hot dogs, burgers, and other typical campfire and football party food!
So easy to make ahead - the Turkey Meatballs in Fresh Marinara Sauce are made ahead in the slow cooker, and just need to be heated up before serving them up on fresh submarine buns or slider rolls. Shredded mozzarella cheese melts on top of the hot meatballs, and with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and some fresh basil, dinner is ready to serve in a flash.

For a special celebration, this Winter Celebration Cake starts with an amazingly rich, tender and moist Chocolate Raspberry Cake, layered with luscious Raspberry Jam Filling, silky Chocolate Mascarpone and covered with Dark Chocolate Ganache. Rich dark chocolate cake and fresh raspberries are even more indulgent when topped with wintery Chocolate Pinecones and Sugared Cranberries and Sugared Rosemary. The fragrance from the Sugared Rosemary gives this an outdoor fresh smell and seasonal flavor as well! A truly special cake!
This creamy Chicken Gnocchi Soup is simple, easy and delicious – better than anything you can get at Olive Garden! Tender chicken, pillowy gnocchi, fresh vegetables and aromatic herbs, and a creamy and flavorful broth, this homemade Chicken Gnocchi Soup is wonderfully rich and possibly the best soup ever!
We had dinner at Olive Garden a few weeks ago, and everyone was SO disappointed with the soup! No more unlimited soup and breadsticks option, and the Chicken Gnocchi Soup they served us was lukewarm, watery, and the vegies were crunchy and raw - no flavor and so disappointing! Just another reason that I prefer making big pots of our favorite soups at home! Everyone loves a steaming bowl of homemade fresh and creamy Chicken Gnocchi Soup, and this Mama can serve up warm parmesan garlic breadsticks on the side too!
I think I've shared this before, but my favorite treat is Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Raspberry Squares, and I am constantly on a quest to make/bake something that recreates that fabulous treat! Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Shortbread Bars capture the dark chocolate flavor and the fresh sweetness of raspberries in a buttery shortbread crust.
A silky and creamy chocolate and raspberry filling is layered in a buttery brown sugar shortbread, topped with dark chocolate and fresh raspberries bursting with flavor. These Dark Chocolate & Raspberry Shortbread bars are so simple to make and sure to become one of your favorites!

When I first started putting together a Valentine Dessert Board, I was thinking about my little ones…but it turned out to be a huge hit with EVERYONE. Filled with heart-shaped cookies and pastries, candy, fruit, and all things sweet, nothing is more easy, fun and relaxing than a sweet treat with your Valentines!
The secret of a great Valentine Sweets Board is to find your favorites treats – and to have a few surprises! The goal is to assemble a board filled with texture and color that fits with your theme. For Valentine’s Day that means lots of fresh fruit and heart-shaped treats in red and pink hues. It’s easy to add Valentine chocolates, decorated sugar cookies and cupcakes, and chocolate-covered strawberries.
For my Valentine Dessert Board I used a loving mix of some of our favorite store-bought treats and some homemade items too. Mix and match your favorites for something wonderful and unique every time – whether you’re making it for your little ones, a school Valentine’s party, gal pals for a Galentine’s party, or to share with your special love!

At our house, we love us some stir-fry! Bulgogi, a Korean classic of marinated grilled beef, is easy to make and fun to eat; it’s no wonder it is one of the country’s most famous dishes! Traditionally, pale yellow Asian pears are used, but Bosc pears are just as delicious. As with most Korean barbecue, the meat is seasoned with sesame and scallion, and the grated ripe pears in the marinade tenderizes the meat and add a characteristic sweetness. And many a Korean chef will tell you that if it doesn't have pears in it, it's not traditional bulgogi.
Tender and caramelized thin slices of beef, fresh broccoli and sliced carrots are not only colorful and flavorful - this is one of our favorite stir-fry dinners!
