I don't know what it is about Valentine's Day that everyone thinking about chocolate...but these Chewy Fudgy Brownies with Milk Chocolate Frosting are better than any boxed chocolates in a frilly red velvet box!
This is our go-to recipe for chewy, deep dark chocolate brownies, which are actually pretty perfect all on their own. But add a slathering of rich Milk Chocolate Buttercream Frosting on top and a generous sprinkle of Valentine hearts and sprinkles, and you've got brownie perfection!
Start with a great chocolate bar - I like Ghirardelli the best, but there are many other great dark chocolate bars out there. 60% or 82% cacoa and you'll have a rich, deep chocolate base. If you prefer a sweeter brownie, you can substitute a semi-sweet chocolate bar.
I've tried many a recipe for fudgy brownies, but this is the recipe that I consistently come back to, year after year. To this day I haven't found anything else that beats it in terms of moistness, chewiness or fudg-i-ness! Every.single.time!
Valentines and the bright reds and pinks always look so festive on top of this creamy Milk Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, but feel free to use whatever holiday sprinkles inspire you!
Hope that you "heart" these as much as we do!
