Who doesn't love the smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven? And drizzled with warm maple glaze? Heavenly! One of my favorite memories with my Mom were the times we had a quiet morning together and could enjoy some homemade cinnamon rolls - and she always loved it when I would make these extra-special Maple Glazed Cinnamon Butterflake Rolls! So easy to prepare, and much faster than traditional rolled cinnamon rolls! Frozen bread dough and a muffin pan, and just a few hours of patiently waiting, and you'll have a dozen of the flakiest sweet rolls, each delicate layer oozing with cinnamon and brown sugar flavor, and the lightest maple glaze topping it off. I start by pre-heating my oven to 200 degrees, and then turning it off. It makes for a nice warm place for these frozen rolls to thaw and soften up. This takes about 2 hours, so you've got a little bit of time to relax and wake up! Butter, brown sugar and cinnamon make a simple filling for these rolls. After you combine 2 dough balls into 1 larger ball, you'll slice them with your kitchen scissors. No rolling at all for these little beauties - could it get any easier? Spread a little cinnamon sugar mixture between each layer, and stuff them gently in a muffin pan. Cover with plastic wrap, and allow them to double in size - see how they fill up the pan? A quick 15 minute bake, and you'll have golden and flaky cinnamon rolls just waiting for a little something special. The perfect Maple Glaze is so simple to whip up! Pure maple extract for the perfect flavor, with just a tiny bit of maple syrup added to give it a little extra shine. Drizzle, dollop or dip your warm cinnamon rolls with this perfect Maple Glaze and serve them warm.... Such a wonderful way to start the day! Hope that you enjoy this long-time family favorite. And Mom, today we celebrate you!
