Cranberry Raspberry Vanilla Bean Sauce

Fresh Cranberry Raspberry Vanilla Bean Sauce is one of the best things on our Thanksgiving table!  Perfect with roast turkey or slathered on fresh turkey sandwiches, but truly spectacular drizzled on top of cheesecake, meringues, and French Silk Pie, or folded into fresh whipped cream!  The cranberry, raspberry and vanilla flavors are a taste sensation that everyone loves!

Cranberry and raspberry are a classic flavor combination - just think of how much everyone loves CranRaspberry juice!  But add mellow Vanilla Bean Paste, and simmer slowly with fresh apple cider and orange juice, and you'll have an incredible flavor combination that will have your taste buds dancing!

CRANBERRY SAUCE IS NOT JUST FOR TURKEY...

Even though Cranberry Raspberry Vanilla Bean Sauce is perfect served with roast turkey or slathered on fresh turkey sandwiches, there are times that it really pays to think outside the traditional box.

This perfectly tart and sweet dessert sauce is truly spectacular drizzled on top of cheesecake, meringues, and French Silk Pie.  For something beautifully pink and sweet, fold a cupful into fresh whipped cream, or drizzle on top of vanilla bean ice cream.  IT IS SO GOOD!

Cranberry Raspberry Vanilla Bean Sauce

INGREDIENTS:
1 (12 oz.) package fresh cranberries (rinsed & drained)
1-1/2 cups fresh raspberries (rinsed & drained)
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup fresh orange juice
½ cup apple cider
2 teaspoons Rodelle Vanilla Bean Paste
Orange zest or orange peel curls (optional)

HOW I MAKE THIS:

1. Rinse and drain the fresh cranberries and raspberries.
2. In a heavy dutch oven, combine water, apple juice, orange juice and vanilla bean paste.  Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium.
3. Add fresh cranberries and raspberries. 
4. Bring to a simmer.  Reduce heat to low and cook gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or just until cranberries start to “burst”. 
5. Remove from heat and gently “mash” until cranberries and raspberries are broken and mixed together (lift up from the bottom of the pan and gently push down to mash).  Add orange zest or orange peel curls (optional). 
6. Cover and cool completely at room temperature.  Refrigerate until serving time.

 
NOTE:  This can be made up to a week before you plan to serve.
