Watch their faces light up with delight as they savor the combination of buttery sugar cookies, sweet royal icing, and the whimsical touch of holiday magic. COOKIE WREATHS DAZZLE!Cookie platters are all the rage right now, and while that is easy and fun, I've always been in love with cookie wreaths. The circular shape of a holiday wreath is an ancient one, dating back to winter solstice celebrations and the return of light, so the tradition of arranging holiday Christmas cookies in a wreath form is not only meaningful, but delicious! Creating a festive cookie wreath is a delicious and creative way to display and serve your favorite Christmas cookies! For a warm evening glow and dazzling display, you can also light and place votive candles in the center of your wintertime cookie wreath. HOW DO I CREATE A COOKIE WREATH?For displaying and serving at a party, you'll need to start with a circular platter (wood and marble work great) to create a sturdy base for a table-top cookie wreath. Next, choose your favorite sturdy cut-out cookies to create a flavorful and colorful selection of your favorite Christmas or winter-time cookies. Layer the cookies in a circular pattern, using different size cookies to create depth and as many layers as you would like. For a festive touch, add ribbon or organic pine breaches underneath or around the cookie wreath for a finishing touch. WHAT ARE THE BEST COOKIES TO USE IN COOKIE WREATHES?Cookie wreaths are generally made with sturdy cut-out cookies like sugar cookies (both vanilla and chocolate), gingerbread, and shortbread cookies. For an airy and heavenly cookie wreath you can also create with meringue cookies. Some of my favorites include:
