I'm gonna let you in on a little secret today! If you are looking for a fast, easy and simple appetizer or after-school snack, these sweet little Peach Barbecue Little Smokies are going to knock your socks off! Always a favorite at our house for football or Super Bowl parties, they make a perfect little snack any time of year! Long time a family favorite, I like to switch these up every now and then and make them Apricot Barbecue Little Smokies. And you can make them as sweet and tender or smoky hot as you want to. Perfect for your littles, but you can also fire 'em up for the big ones too! The nice thing about cooking these Little Smokies low and slow is that they plump up and get so juicy - and just soak in that sweet and smoky barbecue sauce until they are little sausage perfection! Be careful when you put these out though - after bubbling away for a few hours, they will be VERY hot when you serve them! But that may be the only way to slow folks down from devouring these immediately!
HOW I MAKE THESE:
1. Add all ingredients to your favorite slow cooker and stir gently. If you prefer your Little Smokies not quite so spicy, or really jacked up and hot, adjust the chili sauce and cayenne pepper. 2. Heat on high for 1-2 hours or on low for 3-4 hours. These will be HOT – so be careful not to burn your lips when you eat them! 3. Keep warm while serving and refrigerate leftovers. YIELD: 10 servings - unless someone is being selfish and eats them all... Originally posted November 2013, Revised and Reposted August 2018.
