There are periods of time when my kiddos just like old-fashioned favorites. They get plenty of new recipes to try and are usually pretty good guinea pigs - for the most part. Generally if a new twist on an old favorite gets their thumbs up, I know if it good to go. But this is one recipe that they just don't like anyone messing with...ooey, gooey, soft and chewy! But that doesn't mean we can't get creative with the SHAPE, right? I've been making and enjoying these treats since I was a kid, but every now and then, I still like to shake things up! Chex Scotcheroos...soft and chewy, caramel and peanut butter, chocolate and butterscotch...these really are the most perfect treat, and really take you back to your childhood! You can always spread these in a baking pan, but for something a little bit different, try using your muffin pans or muffin top pans to create individual treats. Any way that you make them, they are still always going to be a crowd favorite! For Valentine's Day this year, I decided to make all of our long-time family favorites, and not really do too much to shake things up. And to end the celebration, everyone LOVED these! There wasn't a single piece left! Hope that your Valentine's Day is filled with love and happy memories, however you celebrate it! INGREDIENTS:
6 cups Corn Chex cereal 1 cup light corn syrup 1 cup sugar 1 cup creamy peanut butter 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 cups butterscotch chips 1/3 cup peanut butter 1 teaspoon vanilla HOW I MAKE THESE:
