Is it breakfast, or is it a dessert? Light, airy and slightly sweet angel food cake makes for the most awesome French Toast you have ever had in your life!
You may have noticed a strawberry trend at Snowflakes & Coffeecakes Cooking School this week, and now you see what we've been building up to! And to kick off your spring baking, we're announcing a Rodelle Vanilla Giveaway today!
When I'm planning for special holiday meals, I try to plan as many things that can be made in advance as I can. And I try to add something new and special each year. My family has absolutely gone nuts taste-testing this recipe, and I'm sure your family is going to love it too!
Using quality products is the foundation to a good recipe - especially around the holidays. Rodelle is the brand that I use ALL THE TIME for consistent and delicious results every time.
I used Rodelle Pure Vanilla Extract as the secret ingredient in my Fresh Strawberry Sauce & Syrup, and then added that wonderfully fresh strawberry syrup the next day to make my Fresh Strawberry Cream Cheese. For this Angel Food French Toast, I used Rodelle Cinnamon, Pure Vanilla Extract and Vanilla Paste to make the best egg batter ever. I just LOVE those little flecks of cinnamon and vanilla seed in this!
To kick off spring, Rodelle is sponsoring a giveaway to three of my readers - who will each receive a big bottle of Rodelle Pure Vanilla Extract and Rodelle Vanilla Paste. With the price of vanilla still soaring, I still rely on the quality of Rodelle. And wouldn't you just love to have these in your pantry? To enter, leave a comment below with your favorite springtime recipe or food - and what you would make with your Rodelle Pure Vanilla! Make sure to identify your email address (which does not show up online) so that I can contact the three winners right away and you can be making this Angel French Toast with your Rodelle Pure Vanilla products - together with a little extra surprise, by Easter! If you don't want to wait, head on over to Rodelle to see their quality products - you can also order Rodelle products online at Amazon too.
CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED & PRIZE PACKAGES ARE ON THE WAY TO OUR THREE WINNERS!
And now let's make some Angel Food French Toast! Start with slicing fresh Angel Food Cake (you can use either store bought or the recipe from Snowflakes & Coffeecakes). I cut each cake into 1/12ths. Whip up the Vanilla & Cinnamon Egg Batter, dip the sliced Angel Food Cake, and fry until it is golden. So simple! One little trick - after cooking each side of the cake, flip each piece up on its side and fry that third side too! French toast perfection!
As soon as you take each slice off the griddle, place on a serving plate and shmear with Fresh Strawberry Cream Cheese. Top that with a drizzle of Fresh Strawberry Sauce & Syrup, and everyone will be exclaiming, "Holy heck, what is it? I want some! I want more!" And as they finish up each delicious bite they will smile and their eyes may or may not roll back in their heads with delight!
Trust me...you will want to make this for your next special breakfast or brunch! This is the most wonderful breakfast treat EVER!
Happy baking, and good luck to everyone!
