Mama's feeling a little saucy today! And one of our family favorites that I want to share with you today is Honey Sriracha Orange Barbecue Marinade, Glaze & Sauce. As a fair and blonde Norwegian growing up in Minnesota, I don't think we even knew what "Sriracha" was when I was growing up, but man-oh-man, it is one of our absolute favorites! And this thick and sticky Honey Sriracha Orange Barbeque Marinade, Glaze & Sauce is MAGIC! The perfect blend of sweet and spicy! One of the things that bothers a lot of cooks when making specialty sauces is the incredible amount of different ingredients required - I think I have two shelves in my refrigerator door filled with different bottles of ingredients that I use in all of the different marinades, glazes and sauces that I make. But it's all of those wonderful little bits of sauce and flavor that blend so perfectly into the most delicious combination of flavors! And as Mama tells you all the time, using quality ingredients REALLY does make a difference! Spicy Asian Style Sriracha Seasoning is a real time-saver for me in putting some of these complex sauces together, and I love that the quality of ingredients always shines thru and makes me look like a star! Fresh orange juice and fresh lemon juice are combined with pure, sweet honey and orange marmalade as a base. Brown sugar, hoisin sauce and soy sauce add the next layer of flavor. And for the best part...spicy Sriracha seasoning adds the perfect blend of spices to take this to the final level! You can taste and smell hints of sriracha, Asian hot red chili sauce, garlic, ginger and onion. But the best part is always in how this tastes. It starts out sweet, but warms up with a savory kick! My family devours this Honey Sriracha Orange Barbecue Marinade, Glaze & Sauce - we love it on grilled chicken, kabobs, barbequed ribs and pork. It's also pretty divine with crispy egg rolls or drizzled on rice. I love that I can easily throw a jar of Sriracha seasoning in my weekend camping & boating cooking kit, and not have to bring so many other individual jars of spices along. When grilling, for folks that like things a little bit spicier, just give it a little extra sprinkle. It's nice to have great shortcuts in your cooking arsenal! And like so many of my other family favorite marinades, glazes & sauces, I love that one simple base cooks up in a matter of minutes...and as a stand-alone sauce it is MAGNIFICENT! Add a tad of olive oil and you've got a great and flavorful marinade. And by adding a little cornstarch, this will thicken up into a thick and flavor filled sensational sauce - finger-licking-good! I'll be using this as a marinade tonight, and sharing another favorite recipe with you tomorrow! Fair winds, Mama V HONEY SRIRACHA ORANGE SAUCE:
½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice ½ cup orange marmalade ¼ cup honey 2 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar 2 tablespoons Asian hot chili sauce 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce 1 tablespoon Sriracha seasoning 1 teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon ground ginger ½ teaspoon onion powder ¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper FOR HONEY SRIRACHA MARINADE: ½ cup Honey Sriracha Sauce ¼ cup olive oil FOR HONEY SRIRACHA GLAZE: 1 Tablespoon cornstarch 3 Tablespoons water HOW I MAKE THIS:
