I also make this as Mini Oreo Cookies & Cream Dream Pies, or as Oreo Cookies & Cream Dream Bars for easy serving for a crowd. Enjoy! WHAT MAKES THIS CREAM PIE A "DREAM" PIE?
START WITH AN EASY OREO COOKIE CRUST:With only two ingredients, Oreo cookies and melted butter, it's easy to make a homemade Oreo cookie crust. If you're in a hurry, you can also use a purchased Oreo Cookie Crust, but note that it is a smaller pie (eight-inch rather than nine-inch). Besides, homemade just tastes better! CREAMY FILLING:Similar to other no-bake desserts, we'll be doing something similar with this recipe - but there's no cream cheese! Heavy whipping cream adds a stable, yet unbelievably creamy foundation, and the addition of Cool Whip gives you a fluffy and light texture. There’s no need for gelatin, cornstarch, cream cheese or any other thickening ingredients. TOP WITH HOMEMADE SWEETENED WHIPPED CREAM:A swirl of homemade Sweetened Whipped Cream on top adds a beautiful finishing touch. CAN I MAKE THIS PIE GLUTEN FREE?It is really easy to make this pudding pie gluten free by using gluten free Oreos (or other gluten-free cookies variations) for the crust. All of the other ingredients in the recipe are naturally gluten free!
INGREDIENTS:
CRUST: 22 regular OREO cookies (not Double-Stuf)(about 2 cups or 250g) 5 Tablespoons (72g) unsalted butter (melted) PIE FILLING: 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix 3 cups (24 oz) heavy whipping cream (very cold) 8 oz cool whip (thawed) 18 regular OREO cookies (about 2 cups chopped, crumbled or fine crumbs) TOPPING 1 cup (8 ounces) heavy whipping cream (very cold) ¼ cup powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 9 regular OREO cookies (about 1 cup crumbles or fine crumbs) HOW I MAKE THIS:
