I'll be honest - I'm not sure why these are called "Turtles", but that is what my Great Gram called them from the time that we were little kids, and that is the only name we know them by! I remember Great Gram making these for Christmas when I was a young girl. These are very much a candy, and so very easy to make - besides being super delicious! Chocolate, butterscotch, melty marshmallow and cashews - what's not to love? The original recipe calls for both Rice Krispies cereal and cashews - but over the years we have gradually moved to just cashews. I typically try to find unsalted or low-salted cashews.
These only take a few minutes to make, and they are glossy and beautiful on a Christmas cookie plate - and so delicious! Hope that you love them as much as we do!
