Who doesn't love a soft and chewy Snickerdoodle cookie? These are one of the first cookies that I remember making on my own - and my kids loving making them now.
These bake up nice and puffy - which is fabulous, but we like them little chewier - so I press down on them lightly before baking (if I remember), or even after removing them from the oven isn't too late to press down slightly with a flat-bottomed glass. Any way that you make them though, they are soft, chewy and just loaded with cinnamon and sugar goodness!
Snickerdoodles are a timeless classic and a favorite around here with kids of every age.
So simple to make, and the cinnamon-sugar coating is perfect! No fancy ingredients, no secrets - just an easy cookie to make and bake, and even more delicious to munch on with a tall glass of icy cold milk.
These also pack up nice for camping and backpacking trips, and you can prepare them ahead of time and freeze.
I think I need to go whip up a batch of these now...the fabulous warm cinnamon and sugar scents filling the house when these bake is just too good to pass up - and a nice welcome home from school for the crew!
