These are the WONDERFUL old-fashioned Scandinavian Rosettes that my Mom (Grama Benesh) made every year for Christmas! Lightly golden and sprinkled lightly with powdered sugar or granulated sugar (everyone has their favorite sprinkle), I don't think it would be Christmas without them! After Mom passed, all of her heirloom Rosette forms, Krumkake iron and lefse griddle mysteriously disappeared from the home she shared with my Dad, so I'm always on the lookout for new rosette iron forms - they come in shapes for all the holidays, but the snowflakes are my favorite! Dusted with sugar, don't they just look like winter? Mom's recipe makes about fifty of these delicate treats - but make sure that you have a LARGE air-tight container to hold them all when you are finished. These are really delicate and fragile. These Scandinavian cookies simply melt in your mouth. So good and filled with so many memories!
