Have you been able to find the new Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups? They are one hot commodity since they were introduced, but I've got a delicious solution for you!
These peanut butter truffles hold a delicious surprise - the secret ingredient is Lay's Ruffles Potato Chips and Fritos Corn Chips - both crushed until fine in your food processor. When added to the creamy peanut butter truffle filling, they taste very much like a Butterfinger or Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cup.
You can dip these in your choice of milk chocolate, dark chocolate or white chocolate. I pipe a wee bit of white decorator icing on top to resemble the football laces, but you can also skip that and sprinkle with crushed Frito's or your favorite colorful sprinkle.
For a change of pace in the spring, you can roll these into balls, dip in white chocolate, and decorate with red decorator icing to look like baseballs. With the Super Bowl racing towards us, it's hard to believe that spring training starts in just a few weeks!
However you decide to make these, they are a wonderful combination of sweet and salty. And what's not to love about peanut butter and chocolate? Or football?
