It's not too often (really never) that anyone ever is up before Mama V in the morning!
Imagine my surprise when I returned home after our early morning church service to be met with the HEAVENLY scent of warm Old Fashioned Pumpkin Bread the minute I opened the door!
A cup of fresh hot coffee, a slice (or two) of this sinfully wonderful, warm and spicy bread, and the day was off to a fabulous start!
I love it that my kiddos aren't afraid to cook and bake, or try new recipes - and it's always exciting when they surprise me with a wonderful treat like this!
Kelsey was up bright and early and made about a gazillion loaves of this wonderful Pumpkin Bread, and I think most of them were gone before noon! She managed to hide a few for Monday morning, because what isn't better than moist and flavorful Pumpkin Bread on a Monday morning?
This is our family favorite recipe, and the only one that we ever use for Pumpkin Bread.
You can spice it up any way that you want - add raisins, chopped pecans or walnuts, drizzle with a quick glaze of honey or maple syrup - but it really is so perfect just plain!
This recipe really does make a lot of Pumpkin Bread loaves, but you can split it up and make a few loaves and a lot of muffins, or just plain muffins - or top the muffins with some cream cheese frosting and call these cupcakes!
However you make this, you're in for a treat! Happy October from our house to yours!
