 Herbed Sausage, Apple & Cranberry Stuffing This is one of our favorite side dishes with Roast Turkey - a flavorful medley of fresh herbed stuffing bread, sauted onions, browned sweet sausage, warm tart apples and dried cranberries. Imagine my delight when I visited our new Market District bakery to pick up a loaf of fresh whole grain bread, and discovered a treasure trove of fresh-baked stuffing bread - studded with all kinds of wonderful herbs and spices! You can't even imagine how wonderful this crusty herbed bread smells!  Fresh Herbed Stuffing Bread from Market District Bakery One of the secrets of a savory and textured stuffing is to use a grained and hearty bread. Tear into small chunks or cut into cubes the night before you intend to serve, and toast for twenty minutes in a warm oven. You can also save time by chopping up your onions and celery the night before. If you feel inclined, you can also add fresh mushrooms to the mix, but my gang prefers it without.  Savory Herbed Sausage, Apple & Cranberry Stuffing - Ready to Pop Into the Oven! Tender onions and celery, hearty bread chunks, browned sweet sausage, and the warm tart apples and cranberries bake together into a flavorful mixture that no other stuffing compares to! And the leftovers are perfect warmed up and piled on a fresh turkey sandwich with a slathering of cranberry raspberry sauce. I'm also a bit intrigued by the idea of savory waffles - don't you think that this might bake up into a pretty flavorful waffle? Add a couple slices of turkey and drizzle with some warm leftover Turkey Gravy and we may have the most perfect Thanksgiving leftover ever! Enjoy - and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
