Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Vanilla Bean Buttercream Frosting

For years I have tried many different recipes for Dark Chocolate Cupcakes. But this one? Nirvana!

Perfectly rich, perfectly moist, perfect crumbs and texture, perfectly dark chocolate. What could be more perfect!

This is my go-to recipe! You can switch up the dark chocolate for milk chocolate, or German chocolate.

And as wonderful as these are to just eat plain, a little bit of fresh Vanilla Bean Buttercream can't be wrong!

Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Vanilla Bean Buttercream

To keep these incredibly moist, one of my secrets is to move the cupcakes to storage containers right after they have reached room temperature, and seal them up. Any remaining moisture from baking will stay in the container and keep them ultra-moist for days!

The Vanilla Bean Buttercream? You can switch it up any way that you want - add food coloring, add sprinkles or jimmies - have some fun!
