 Caramel Cashew Chex Mix Isn't it amazing how fast the holidays creep up on us? Thanksgiving is barely past, and BAM - December happens! At the beginning of the month I usually look back at menus and notes from past Christmas holidays - and start assembling a framework for what hopefully will help keep me organized through the holidays. Sometimes being a list-maker can be a curse or a blessing! This is a family favorite recipe - we've been making this for years, and everyone is always so happy when it makes its first appearance of the season - warm caramel with the most delicious secret! And while my family is sometimes happy to eat this right of the counter as it is cooling from the oven, it also perfect for parties. And in a pretty basket with a bow, this makes a perfect little gift!  Caramel Cashew Party Mix  Roaster loaded with crisp cereal, crunchy nuts and ready for the warm homemade caramel! So easy to make - and one of the best things about this recipe is that you can customize it to your personal likes. I typically use a combination of Corn Chex and Crispix cereal with buttery mini-pretzels, cashews and pecans, but you can just as easily add popcorn, or Cinnamon Chex or Honey Nut Chex and your favorite nuts - peanuts and macadamia nuts are great in this too. Stir it all up in a roaster pan, drizzle with warm homemade caramel and bake for just 15 minutes. And the secret? A touch of cayenne pepper added to the soft warm caramel. No one will know it is there but you, but it is SERIOUSLY addictive! Just do yourself a favor and double the recipe - you'll be glad you did!  Caramel Chex Party Mix
