Now that we're entering into some serious winter weather, it's time to pull out the old family favorites! This Beefy Wild Rice Bake is something that I have been making for decades, and always make during Christmas break - it makes for a delicious dinner and seriously good leftovers for the kids during the week!
And it's been so long since I shot photos of this, it was time to do that as well!
One of the nice things about this recipe is that you can adjust it to include your favorite balance of long grain white rice and wild rice. The savory flavor of the sauce is so easy to pull together, and gives this just the right balance!
And the crunchiness of the water chestnuts and slivered almonds makes this the perfect taste combination!
We were back to Minnesota in November, so I was able to load up on fresh Minnesota Wild Rice - impossible to find around Ohio! And the good thing about wild rice is that it has a shelf life of about a gazillion years! I'll be making some of our favorite Minnesota Wild Rice Soup next!
