It's getting to be that wonderful time of year - the peaches are starting to show up! We've got deliveries to local nurseries from the Georgia Peach Truck, and they are wonderful! Who ever knew that they had a route they travelled each year to get these beauties into our hands!
We love a basic Fresh Peach Cobbler - warm from the oven, and served with ice cream or whipped cream. This recipe is a classic and one that we have enjoyed for generations!
Did you know that there are two different ways of preparing peach cobbler? One method involves placing the biscuits on the bottom of your baking pan and pouring the peach filling over the top - as the cobbler bakes, the biscuits rise up out from the bottom. I prefer making ours the other way - pre-baking the peach chunks for 10 minutes, and then adding the sweet biscuit topping. I brush with a little egg wash and a generous sprinkle or two of cinnamon sugar. It's all good!
With everyone around here today this summer treat is going fast! Hope that you enjoy as much as we do!
