When the Boys are gone, the Girls will play!
The guys in the house had a weekend of camping with scouts this weekend, which means girl time!
These are fun weekends for us, as we get to do all of our favorites - chick flicks, a glass or two of wine, manicures and pedicures, facials, and bubble baths, even an ice cream party every now and then.
It's also an opportunity to cook our "girl" favorites and not have to hear grumbling from the boys!
Although I have to admit, when I make this wonderful Tuna Casserole, I still have to make it two ways - with peas, and without. It still amazes me that my girls LOVED peas when they were little, and they love snow peas today, but a few of them turn all shades of green if I put cooked peas in front of them now.
This flavorful casserole takes some time to make, but we usually end of cooking together in the kitchen anyway, and with more than one to chop and whisk, this delectable dinner is well worth the effort.
It was so nice outside that we were even able to enjoy time on the deck. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is to relax in the sunshine again with my girls. Bon appetit!
