Fresh summer peaches....a little bit of sugar. Magical nectar!
I have made this simple syrup for years, but wanted to share the recipe so that you can enjoy this as much as we do! I can't begin to tell you how easy and simple this Peach Simple Syrup & Peach Syrup is to make! And its one of my favorite things to add to summertime drinks!
Fresh Peach Sweet Tea, Peach Bellinis, or sparkling French Peach Champagne with fresh Peach Syrup - to die for! And it all starts with a crate of fresh ripe peaches and an hour of time. How simple is that?
No peeling required! Simply wash your ripe peaches, quarter them or chunk them, removing the stones. Throw into a large heavy pan, add some sugar and the tiniest bit of fruit juice or water, and simmer away for a half hour.
What could be easier?
You're going to want about three fresh peaches for every cup of sugar. Each batch will be a little bit different, depending on the type of peach that you use, and the color of the fuzzy peaches!
I save jelly jars throughout the winter, and they are perfect for pouring this into when you are done. Store in the refrigerator if you plan to use within a few weeks, or you can freeze for later use in freezer-safe containers - just remember to keep some extra space at the top if you plan to freeze.
This makes the freshest, prettiest, and peachiest nectar you can imagine!
And once you strain your peaches and have a clear syrup, save the peaches! They are perfect on top of oatmeal, pancakes, yogurt, cottage cheese, or ice cream! The Peach Syrup can also be added to other ingredients - vinaigrette, fruit dips, or drizzled on top of creamy ice cream.
And now if you'll excuse me....I've got to get this batch chilling so that we can enjoy later today!
Have a relaxing day!
