Okay - we can pretend! This deliciousness is obviously not for breakfast, but it sure tastes great! The funny thing is, I catch the little ones eating the entire bowl of this - granola and all - they don't pick out just the candy and gummies!
I start with our favorite homemade maple granola as a base, and we add in our favorite Valentine candies, which tend to differ from batch to batch, year to year.
While my honey and I usually celebrate Valentine's Day with a special night all of our own, we got into the tradition of celebrating with all of our little ones with a Valentine party for the family. No surprise, but it tends to be favorite finger foods and little sweet treats.
Always fun, always frilly, and lots of white, pink and red! If you haven't tried dried cherries before, they are a WONDERFUL and colorful addition. Every year I've been able to find different shapes of fruit chews made with real fruit and in great heart shapes - and you can usually locate Valentine gummies in heart, kisses and hug shapes. Yogurt raisins are covered in both white and pink shells, so they add to the blend beautifully. Valentine M&M's are a given - pick your favorite!
Our Love Crunch Granola is obviously one that doesn't lend itself to a yogurt parfait, but it is pretty and delicious to serve! Easy to make ahead of time and then hide!
This is a wonderful variation to add to our Granola shelf....just not one that I typically would serve for breakfast or brunch!
Hope you love it!
