Isn't Halloween fun? So many parties filled with fun and gore! We always have a little party with the family, usually the weekend before trick-or-treating, just so that we can kick back and enjoy some of our scariest favorites! This year, it was six dozen cupcakes for various events! And what could be more fun that these? You can use my Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Vanilla Bean Buttercream or my Autumn Chocolate Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting as the perfect base. I tried several different ideas for the "blood" - jelly and jam just didn't look right, and I don't care for the consistency of red decorating "gel", regular decorator icing was just too opaque, but through a few trials, Wilton's Cookie Frosting (it comes in a neat little bottle) in red worked out PERFECTLY! The Wilton Chef's Knives were ordered from Amazon (considerably less expensive than at local stores), but unfortunately 2/3rds of them were broken when they arrived. Live and learn! Good thing I had a lot of autumn sprinkles on hand to use on the extras! For my costume this year I wore a chef's apron and pinned a nametag on that said "CE" and handed out these cupcakes. You'll have to let me know if you figure it out! Lots of fun - the kids loved them, and they tasted great!
