BACON...bacon...bacon...and now that I have your attention! Today is your lucky day! If you think bacon is good, or that caramelized bacon is even better, this sweet, salty and spicy little treat is going to knock your socks off!
I just realized that even though we've been making this for years and including it in SO MANY recipes, I've never shared the recipe all by itself before. And because I'll be using it for a recipe later in the day, and because I just know that you'll want to come back to the crazy goodness that is CARAMELQUED BACON, I thought it made sense to just create a special place just for it so that you can come back and visit often!
Half the fun of creating new recipes and sharing them with you is the joy that comes with naming these creations! Caramelized Bacon? Barbequed Bacon? This is that and so much more! And so I'm going to call this CARAMELQUED BACON...just because it is!
This perfectly simple recipe is perfect for breakfast as a side to sunny-side-up eggs - these spiced up and caramelized bacon strips are perfect for dipping in those runny yolks. Or chopped up and sprinkled on golden fluffy scrambled eggs. Or added to a sandwich or to top a casserole. The possibilities are mind-blowing! And of course, it's perfectly wonderful all on its own!
So easy to make too! Combine your favorite barbeque seasoning (the dry stuff) with an equal amount of dark brown sugar; dredge your bacon on both sides, and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it is caramelized and bubbly!
I always make extra - because for some crazy reason it just seems to disappear every time I turn my back.
You can thank me later! Have a wonderful and delicious day!
