Jump back Jose! If you like sweet and gooey, dark chocolate and caramel, this is the treat you've been waiting for!
The Fat Witch Bakery, located in New York City at the Chelsea Market, is a destination for brownie lovers worldwide!
This is my take on their wonderful Caramel Brownies - made all the better with dark chocolate and homemade Salted Caramel Sauce.
Let me introduce you to your new best friend - Salted Caramel Brownies!
Man oh man, I was a little bit surprised how fast EVERYONE in the house came running while this was baking in the oven!
Better than a Yankee Candle, and one of the best fall scents out there! Old Fashioned Pear Crisp is truly a treat!
And even though you may think that crisps are all about apples, peaches and berries, if you have never tried a fresh Pear Crisp, you are in for a treat!
Dinnertime during the week can get to be so crazy! I'm always looking for recipes that meet two requirements: fast and easy to prepare, and something that my family loves!
This spicy Chipotle Orange Glazed Chicken is magic! Grilled or baked in the oven, it is so fast to make - from start to finish, you'll have this on the table in under 15 minutes if you grill, a few minutes longer if you bake in the oven - the perfect weeknight dinner for us.
What could be more perfect than a sunny, warm 85 degree day in late September? Brunch on the deck with all my little ones is the perfect way to kick off a lazy "home" day, and we have the perfect recipe to share with you today!
This started off as a crazy experiment that went terribly RIGHT! My kiddos are evenly divided about whether or not I should put pecans on caramel monkey bread, but it is Fall, and I had a nice basket of apples just calling out to me...when it dawned on me, Caramel Apples! Or better yet, how about Caramel Apple & Pecan Monkey Bread?
Is it a thing? Could it be a thing? You betcha!
This is my pick for a perfect birthday dinner!
I have many memories of wonderful Chinese feasts at Leann Chin's restaurant in Minneapolis, and we LOVED the Lemon Chicken with Chinese Lemon Sauce the most! An extremely popular place because of the incredibly fresh and flavorful Chinese food - nothing at all like takeout, they had a wonderful dinner buffet that was to die for! This was the restaurant I requested for many a birthday celebration or special event. When it closed, it was a sad day indeed!
I actually had the pleasure of meeting Leeann Chin when she first opened her original restaurant and many times throughout the years, and she was a charming and delightful woman who would jet all over the country to cook Chinese feasts for her clients. She created a Chinese Cookbook for Betty Crocker, and her restaurants were bought out by General Mills. There are now Leeann Chin fast-food restaurants located throughout the Twin Cities, but the recipes (and food) are not the same...
This is my favorite take on my favorite recipe of hers!
Quin-tes-sen-tial. adjective Repesenting the most perfect or typical example of quality or class...
If ever there was such a thing, my recipe for Old Fashioned Apple Crisp is it! I've been making this for as long as I've been old enough to peel apples! And finally time that I re-shot the photos and re-posted!
This is always one of the first things I bake in the Fall, and we probably make dozens of this perfect apple crisp each season!
Perfect warm from the oven, perfect with vanilla bean ice cream or cinnamon-spiced sweet whipped cream, perfect drizzled with Salted Caramel Sauce, just plain perfect!
It's time to start making my Fall bucket list! Every year the list just seems to get longer and longer....there are just so many exciting and wonderful things to do around here in the autumn!
I picked up our first batch of "orchard" apples this weekend, and have been having fun starting to cook and bake some of our family favorites.
This is the perfect autumn salad - so colorful with the purples, reds and golds, and perfectly crunchy with crisp apples, purple cabbage, red onions and sliced almonds.
It is always such a treat to grill the last fresh wild Copper River sockeye salmon of the season, and this is one of our favorite recipes in the Fall!
This incredibly flavorful Roasted Apple & Maple Glaze is perfection - just the right amount of tangy and sweet - the perfect glaze for fresh salmon and one of our favorites!
The autumn flavors and smells of grilling, apple and maple are just what we need to get the season going!
Isn't it amazing how quickly we can flip from summer and over to autumn? And the flavors of fall are so wonderful - fresh apples, maple, pumpkin, and the rich and aromatic autumn spices - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg...
This slightly sweet and tangy sauce is a family favorite - even the little ones love it!
Fresh apples and just a touch of maple syrup fuse into a divine marinade, barbeque sauce and glaze. Perfect for fall grilling!
So now that apple season has arrived, it's time to get baking!
I used to think that there was no way to improve on my homemade and classic Apple Pie, that was until I tweaked the recipe just a bit and created my Salted Caramel Apple Pie, using homemade Salted Caramel Sauce. And now enters Apple Cider Caramel Sauce....it just keeps getting better and better!
Which leaves the decision-making up to you, because both Salted Caramel Sauce and Apple Cider Caramel Sauce are absolutely PERFECT in and drizzled over the top of this warm and delicious pie!
What is it that makes apples and caramel go together so well?
So many caramels to choose from....so little time! As much as we love soft and chewy Homemade Caramels, Caramel Silk in a Jar, Salted Caramel Syrup, and so many others, this Apple Cider Caramel Sauce has layers of flavor that just can't be described, other than OUT OF THIS WORLD!
This autumn-spiced caramel is rich and creamy, and I use it in so many of my fall baking recipes. It pairs perfectly with anything apple!
Now that the Fall cooking season has officially kicked off, I've been having fun running thru some of our family favorite recipes, when it dawned on me - why in the world do I only seem to make these in Fall?
Sweet Potato Gratin with Gruyere & Parmesan is probably the most perfect way to enjoy sweet potatoes or any kind of gratin potatoes! Move over sweet potatoes with sweet toasty marshmallow tops, or roasted sweet potatoes - there is a new kid in town!
And these are so crazy good that you could very well decide to go without any type of meat and just make this your meal!
