Who doesn't love the classic Green Bean Casserole combination? But this creamy, homemade version is soooooo much better than the canned cream of mushroom soup!
The creamy mushroom sauce is fresh, rich, and so flavorful!
And if you want to take it one level higher, you can always make homemade fresh fried onions or scallions to put on top. We actually prefer the crunch and flavor in the ready-made version, and I usually stir half of a large can (about 1-1/2 cups) into the green bean mixture, and then sprinkle the remaining 1-1/2 cups on top.
